AIC Alternatives Seminars – hear from experts in property, infrastructure, private equity and debt

By Lora Benson | Aug 16, 2019
The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) is running two alternative asset seminars in Birmingham and London. Each seminar will cover property, infrastructure, private equity and debt.

Alternative assets under management have now topped £7 trillion, according to data from research firm Preqin, and the vast majority of institutional investors are looking to maintain or increase their exposure to asset classes including private equity (95%), infrastructure (94%) and debt (95%).

But alternatives are not just for institutions. There are several ways for private clients to gain exposure, with closed-ended investment companies in the UK managing over £72 billion of assets in private equity, infrastructure, debt and other specialist asset classes.

To help explain the opportunities and risks in alternative asset classes, the AIC is presenting two seminars focusing on property, private equity, infrastructure and debt. The Birmingham seminar will be held on Wednesday 18 September at Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel, Maxstoke Lane, Meriden, Coventry CV7 7HR. The London seminar will be on Thursday 10 October at The ICAEW, One Moorgate Place, London EC2R 6EA.

The seminars are hosted by Nick Britton, Head of Intermediary Communications at the AIC, with guest speakers who are experts in each of the alternative asset classes. Each seminar offers 2 hours 15 minutes of structured CPD and is endorsed by the CISI.
