The Insights Review, produced by the Internal Consulting group (ICG) is out now. ICG is a global network of consultants, with the goal of aiding professionals in their career effectiveness and development.
The Insights Review is a collection of abstract reviews of relevant ‘open published’ perspectives and research reports. The abstracts allow you to scan quickly for the most relevant content, and include links to the full articles.
Each edition includes an ‘Article of the month’. The top article for October 2018 is 'Introverts, not loud extroverts, make the best leaders in business’ (Oliver Wyman). According to the abstract, the paper argues that introverts can be strong, and can do a lot of things that they are not given credit for.
It says: "In the workplace, introverts often work more slowly and deliberately. They like to focus on one task at a time and can have mighty powers of concentration. They are relatively immune to the lures of fame, recognition, and self promotion. Once we realise the power of being an introvert, we can contemplate their strengths in building deep relationships, developing meaningful strategies, and executing with excellence."
