After dinner speaker and golfer Peter McGovern kept 95 guests entertained with golfing anecdotes at the event, held at the Symphony Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Birmingham.

The event teed off with a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal and entertainment. Guests included Branch President Ian Bailey, Chartered MCSI; Barrie Hodge, Head of Fundraising & Communications at St Basils Charity; Mrs Deed Curry, Lady Mayoress of the City of Birmingham; and Cllr Carl Rice, Lord Mayor of the City of Birmingham.

Hodge said: “St Basils works to break the cycle of homelessness in the West Midlands. We provide support to over 4,000 young people each year. That can be anything from family mediation to housing them at one of our 30 accommodation projects throughout the region. But that is just the start. We teach life skills to the young people we support. Anything from teaching them basic cooking skills to budgeting their money. We also work with partners to provide education, employment and training opportunities.”

Sponsors were Fidelity International; Legal & General; and M&G Investments.
