Guest comedian delights attendees at the CISI West Country annual dinner

English writer and stand-up comedian Gary Delaney was guest speaker at the CISI West Country branch annual dinner, held on 10 October 2019 at Mercure Exeter Southgate

Nearly 60 guests contributed a total of £278 (including gift aid) in aid of Children's Hospice South West, an institution that has been caring for children with life-threatening conditions by providing children's hospice and professional family support services for more than 25 years. It is dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives through the provision of the best possible hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

The care offered at each of their three hospices is not just about medical and nursing support sick children, but enriching the lives of the children and their families.

Some of the top table guests at the event were: Robert Noble-Warren, Chartered FCSI, president, CISI West Country branch; Dale Simpson, SW England regional chairman, CIOT; Gary Delaney, guest speaker, comedian; Mhairi Bass-Carruthers, events fundraising officer, Children's Hospice South West; Cheryl Farnham, chair STEP west of England branch; Stephen Roach, Chartered FCSI, past president, CISI West Country branch; Richard Bennett, CISI head of membership; Dr. Jane Shen MCSI, senior lecturer in finance, University of Exeter; Nigel Lyons, vice president, Devon & Somerset Law Society; Professor Richard Harris, professor of quantitative social geography, University of Bristol; and Rory McKee, CISI senior client relationship manager.
