Former British ambassador to the United States Sir Christopher Meyer was guest speaker at the CISI Scotland annual dinner, held on 7 September 2017 at the Principal Edinburgh Hotel, Edinburgh
Sir Christopher Meyer provided some amusing anecdotes from his time as ambassador in Washington to an audience of over 140 at the event. He explained his role during the Blair/Bush years, and gave his opinion on current world politics while keeping the mood upbeat.
Guests at the event contributed over £1,386.00, excluding gift aid, in aid of the Winning Scotland Foundation, which works with partners to develop the confidence and adaptability of young people in Scotland.
CISI Scotland president Christopher Clark MCSI said: "We were delighted to once again host a dinner that provided a place for the Scottish financial community to unwind and celebrate with our award winners. I particularly enjoyed hearing our speaker’s insights into life as the British ambassador to the USA."
